Light up Africa through local economic development

In cooperation with the NGO ENTREPRENEURS DU MONDE and the company LAGAZEL, the NAFA NAANA program has developed an innovative approach to large-scale distribution in Burkina Faso of KALO solar lamps KALO produced locally, and has helped bring light to thousands of poor families in Africa. To accompany 100 micro-entrepreneurs, whose activity selling solar lamps makes it possible for 2,000 families to have light for a year, the sum of 26,615 € was collected. The first training sessions for micro-entrepreneurs were organized in Burkina Faso in the first quarter of 2018.

In 2018, a second fund-raising campaign was launched.

NAFA NAANA’s goal was to facilitate access to solar lamps for groups of low-income women in rural areas. To do this, Nafa Naana will put into place activities to promote awareness of energy insecurity, payment plans adapted to the population, and the logistics necessary for access to solar lamps in targeted rural areas.

Support this project and strengthen the independence of hundreds of women in rural areas in Burkina Faso by giving them the means to purchase a solar lamp on their own!

The energy of hope

Experience has shown that when a family has access to a source of clean and sustainable energy, children are the primary beneficiaries in terms of health as well as education. L’AMADE Mondiale is at the initiative of the challenge “The energy of hope”, whose goal is to promote access for Sahelian schoolchildren to energy through the distribution of solar lamps in our partner schools located in off-grid areas.

In the first campaign, which took place in January 2018, 850 solar lamps were distributed in rural schools in Ouadane and Chinguetti in Mauritius, and in the town of Saint-Louis in Senegal, three sites crossed through by the AFRICA ECO RACE rally, a partner in the campaign. Again, every time we replace a kerosene lamp with a solar lamp, we reduce greenhouse gas emission by 288 kg and enable the beneficiary child to study an average of four additional hours every day.

DISCOVER THE PROJECT

Lagazel is now associated with the next campaign, which will enable hundreds of Sahelian schoolchildren to have access to a solar lamp. For each lamp purchase through the solidarity box program (each box contains 5 lamps LK3000), 14.50 € are paid over to l’AMADE Mondiale to finance a solar lamp for an African child.

Support this project and bring light to Sahelian students through the solidarity box program!
